I believe that peoples' relationship to work has changed drastically due to covid. We had the Great Resignation. There is a huge problem with a disengaged workforce. Many folks who leave their work cite poor leadership. I believe that the culture and operation of work has changed too slowly. It has not adapted and evolved to keep pace with changing needs of people.
People are good at producing results within their individual comfort zones. Outside of those comfort zones are unexpected results. Leaders create the space for employees to venture outside their comfort zones by modeling that exploration mindset themselves. Many leaders follow the model: Tell me what to do and I will do it, but this creates copies of the same type of person. In reality, everyone has individual strengths.
